A timeless retreat located in the beautiful Blue Mountains, Metropole Guesthouse offer simple pleasures and an escape from city life. Established in the 1930s, the guesthouse retains its character and charm with traditional period features throughout. After a long day of sightseeing, retire to the character-filled library in front of the fire with a good book, play a game of pool or set up a board or card game in the cosy lounge on the first floor, or simply relax over a drink in one of the antique arm chairs. Along with its historical fixtures, the guesthouse also includes modern conveniences including guest laundry facilities, air-conditioning and complimentary wi-fi in all rooms and public areas.

The accommodation at Metropole Guesthouse is romantic, boutique and is ideal for a couple’s romantic getaway. With the 1930’s style, the Classic Queen Rooms are all fully refurbished with modern facilities including a plush Queen bed, flat screen TV, electric blankets, mini bar and coffee and tea making facilities.

Located in the heart of Katoomba, you can enjoy the local cafes and restaurants or stroll through the beautiful village. Katoomba railway station and the nearby boutique stores are within close walking distance to the guesthouse. The prime location of the guesthouse means that you are close to the must see sights of the Three Sisters, Wentworth Falls and Scenic World. Guests can easily explore the many walking trails of the World Heritage National Parks and take in the crisp mountain air. The friendly, locally based staff will outline the best places to visit, the ‘must do’ attractions and the hidden treasures of the Blue Mountains.

How many people can sleep in a room?

All room types generally cater for up to 2 adults. Extra beds may be available on request*.

How do I make a booking once I have purchased a Global Escapes voucher?

Customers will need to contact the Global Escapes team. When you contact us to make your booking, we will endeavour to book and confirm all components of your package within 72 hours of receiving your booking details. Should we not be able to confirm any component, we will contact you with an alternative within 72 hours. For further details regarding the booking process please refer to our full Terms & Conditions (use the link at the bottom of this page).

Can I cancel or make changes to my booking?

Should you need to cancel for any reason once full payment is made, subject to clause 4 in the Terms & Conditions, you will not be entitled to any refund, including any extra purchases. Fees will apply should any amendments be required after booking your voucher (minimum fee of $100 per person). In addition to the amendment fees, any supplier terms and conditions will be applied. Can I purchase travel insurance through Global Escapes?

Yes you can purchase travel insurance. Please call 1300 881 433. The Australian Government advises that all travellers obtain travel insurance prior to travel. The insurance should cover loss of deposit and other monies through cancellation, loss or damage to personal baggage and loss of money, medical expenses, additional expenses to cover hotel accommodation and repatriation costs to Australia should any services need to be extended or curtailed due to illness or other insurable risks. Our reservations team can provide you with general information about travel insurance at the time of booking. If you do not require travel insurance, you agree to provide written acknowledgement that a recommendation to obtain travel insurance has been made to you by us.

How do I check room availability at the resort?

If I want to travel on a particular date but haven’t purchased a Global Escapes voucher, can the booking/room be held for me until I have purchased the voucher?

No. Bookings/rooms cannot be held without voucher purchase.

What is the promotion availability?

Your booking is subject to the availability of the actual rooms provided by the resort for the Global Escapes promotion. This allocation of rooms is well in excess of the rooms required to satisfy the offer, however, not all rooms available at the resort on any given day will be available to guests participating in the promotion offer. Please note that booking available rooms is on a First Come First Served basis.

Can I contact the resort directly to make a booking/redeem my voucher or check availability?

No. Bookings/voucher redemptions and availability checks must be made through Global Escapes.

I haven’t received my Global Escapes voucher yet. What do I do?
